HomeOps backup checks start with restore tests
Self-hosters and family admins who need backups that can survive app failures, disk loss, accidental deletion, and bad updates.
Criteria
- Track source, destination, backup type, frequency, last success, last restore test, encryption, and failure reason.
- Treat sync, snapshots, application exports, and independent backups as different controls.
- Schedule small restore tests before trusting a backup plan or applying risky maintenance.
Limitations
A green dashboard is not proof of recovery. Keep sensitive backup destinations and credentials outside public templates.
